Maternal Instinct: My Transition from Nursing to Newborn Photography
A newborn baby is a precious thing – for parents and anyone who gazes upon them. Such delicate feet, small hands, and brimming with innocence and trust… Ask any mother what part of motherhood she loved the best and without missing a beat all will say, “When Joey was a newborn”. You would want to have that moment forever, captured in a photo.
Newborn photography will help. The entire concept of this photography is to capture the beauty and innocence of your newborn. Your baby boy or girl will grow up but these treasures will remain and bring you joy for the rest of your life!
Here is where I come in the picture, helping new parents make new memories with their child.
Newborn Photography – Capturing Pure Innocence with Every Click
I am a mother of 4 lovely and precious children. Perhaps this is why it’s easier to understand why parents want to photograph every moment of their child’s life, from birth to their first birthday and further along the years.
My absolute favorite is newborn photography. Even today, I feel a thrill and excitement thrumming in my veins when I receive a newborn photography assignment.
The chance to let my creative juices flow, the chance to see the joy and love in the face of a mother, and the chance to capture beautiful photographs that will be cherished forever.
What Does a Former RN and a Newborn Photographer Have In Common?
My decision to begin photography after an extensive experience as a Registered Nurse felt very natural. After all, I was still doing what I loved the most, being in touch with new mothers and their babies.
My experience as a RN did prepare me for the later stage of my life and career. Handling newborn babies isn’t easy when you have to capture beautiful photographs. They will cry in the middle of a shoot, demanding attention from the mother.
Keeping a newborn comfortable during a shoot is the most difficult feat, yet being near to a warm, maternal and experienced presence makes both mother and child content.
Being a mother and former RN taught me a thing or two about what really matters when it comes to motherhood.
