A Practical Guide to Flawless Pregnancy Photography
Flawless is a word we seldom throw around when it comes to pregnancy photography. Yet, every day, we come across so many beautiful photographs that truly take our breath away.
How is it that photographers are able to take such gorgeous photos? Is it just the photographer’s talent that should take credit, the mother’s radiant glow she seems to exude from within, or is there something else at play?
As a materity photographer NJ, here are a few details that should offer you some answers!
Pregnancy Photoshoot – How to Get Flawless Maternity Portraits
As the star of the show, there’s no earthly reason why you shouldn’t have some pampering done to look your best. With your growing belly, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole experience. Getting some treatments done to enhance that glow in your skin and the shine in your hair will make a huge difference in the final shots.
Work with the Photographer to Define Your Style
Would you rather go all-glam, edgy or are you a classic gal? Talk to your photographer and imagine the style of photography you want to have. You want to make the photos look as magical and beautiful as possible. Try to settle on a style that would represent your personal aesthetic.
Note: Be straight about how much nudity you’re comfortable with. The photographer will never push you to show more skin but it’s better to be clear beforehand.
Do Your Research
This refers to poses. If you’re seen a pose you like on Pinterest, save it for when you meet your photographer. Share your idea about the pose and whether you may be able to achieve it. Think ahead about any props you may need as well so there’s no issue later.
Have a Robe or a Blanket
If you’re opted for an au naturel photoshoot, bring a robe or a big blanket along with you. Since you’ll be in your underwear for the most part, having a good cover will ensure that you stay comfortable throughout while maintaining your privacy.
Consider a Few Poses
Neither you nor your photographer will have the time or the energy to try forty different poses.
Instead, allow your photographer to move around so they can take advantage of the variety of angles and lighting.
Let them direct you. Remember; they are professionals in maternity photography. Let go of control and listen to them.
