Reasons why the Postpartum Life is the Best
Many of us do not question the notion of having a baby. We look forward to it!
For some, the dream starts as early as college. This is when you subconsciously scout your surroundings for features and characteristics in the opposite gender that appeal to you. In other words, those you feel would compliment yours if it came to having a child. Of course! The urge to reproduce is perfectly natural isn’t it? Not exactly! That being said, whether the drive is rooted in a need to procreate or is plainly sexual, every now and then, a baby rocks up as a result!
Babies are great. They scream, they cry, they keep us up at night and sometimes deny us every semblance of a normal social life! Such God sends! We’re going to go over some of the reasons that life after having a baby is just absolutely thrilling.
No rest for the Wicked
Ever heard the saying “there ain’t no rest for the wicked”?
Well in this case, we’re not sure about the wicked part but we know there is likely going to be little rest for you. When in the womb, all your baby’s needs were met. Sure there was the strain on your body however this is different. You will likely be woken up by a crying child at odd hours. It won’t matter if it’s mid afternoon or late at night. When that child has a need, he or she will cry. For you and your partner, a crying baby means one thing. A need has to be met! This will likely disturb a lot of the time you might have been hoping for some well deserved shut eye. Fun times!
The Weight won’t Vanish
Contrary to what many might think, weight gained during pregnancy does not just vanish. You need to put in the work. Good luck trying to get into an effective regular exercise routine with a demanding little person at your heels at all times!
You’ll Wonder Why
It is common to, due to all the stress and worry that comes with raising a baby for you to wonder why. You will wonder what possessed you to go ahead and have a child in the first place! Seek help and take a break!
What Social Life?
Before having a child, plans were easy to make. If at all, you would only have to check in with your partner with regards to availability and then you were off. It won’t be the same with a child. Your baby will take up most of your time, energy and attention! Even on the days you do finally manage to get grandma come by and babysit, it is likely you will use the time to maybe hit a spa on your own and take a long nap!
No matter how powerful your maternal instinct, nipple soreness is no fun! Unfortunately, it is exactly what comes with the territory of breast feeding! You’re likely going to suffer a fair bit of discomfort and it might really help to keep those soothing creams handy!
